We met in Australia at Capernwray Bible School, and our friendship began while serving together on a ministry road trip throughout southern Australia. Between programs, we took a short break to the Gold Coast before returning to our studies, where we continued to grow closer and shared many memorable experiences. After countless coffee dates, late-night talks, and plenty of laughter, Torge made the first move, and a few thoughtful months passed before Danae said yes.

Following a period of long distance and many conversations, we knew that marriage was the next step God was leading us toward. Our relationship has been full of joy, growth, and learning to love Jesus within one another while pursuing the calling He has placed on our hearts.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you in a day full of laughter, dancing, and the joy of sharing this special moment with the people we love most!

Gifts

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all! For those who wish to bless us further, we’ve created a registry with items that will help us build our first home together. For those wishing to gift Canadian cash, e-transfers can be sent to td.stehr@gmail.com. For those who wish to gift Euros, please use PayPal addressed to torge.stehr@gmail.com. There will also be a gift box at the reception for those who wish to leave a card.

Registry
Our wedding ceremony and reception will be located at The Barn at Hazel Creek. You can use this link to view the location in Google Maps. Once parked, you will be directed on a grass path to the ceremony location. There will be chairs set up along the walkway for those who would appreciate a break before continuing to the ceremony site.
We welcome guests to come up to 30 minutes ahead of our ceremony time, starting at 1:00 pm. We recommend arriving at the ceremony venue early to ensure you have enough time to refresh and walk to the ceremony space (located about a 5-minute walk from the parking lot) and find a seat.
We kindly ask you to RSVP online by February 1, 2026, to ensure that we can maximize our guest number.
Our wedding will take place at 42245 South Sumas Rd. on June 27th, 2026. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm. After the ceremony, guests will have a short break followed by coffee, light bites, and lawn games later in the afternoon with dinner and reception to follow. The venue closes at 11:30 pm.
As the venue is located in a more rural area (we are excited for this gorgeous venue!), it is best accessed by vehicle. We recommend out-of-town or international guests to use a vehicle to get to and from the venue. Google maps will give directions to The Barn at Hazel Creek.
Our dress code is semi-formal/festive and our colour theme includes warm, summer colours. Following the theme of our barn venue, we also welcome any western footwear for our reception dance festivities.

*Please note that there will be a short walk on a gravel pathway to a grass field for the ceremony.

To keep our day intimate and within the space available, we are only able to include the guests named on your invitation. Thank you for understanding — we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Yes! We love your little ones and can’t wait to celebrate together. Please include their names when you RSVP so that we can plan accordingly. While the ceremony will be kept a little more formal, there will be lawn games following the ceremony and inclusive activities/dancing for all guests throughout the reception.
Vancouver summers are usually sunny and rather warm during the day, while the nights cool to a comfortable temperature. We recommend a light wrap to cover bare shoulders and sunscreen/sunglasses for the outdoor ceremony.
Our afternoon ceremony will take place in a grass area (with an indoor back-up plan if it rains!), and coffee hour will take place in the outdoor courtyard. The reception will take place indoors (please note that the barn doors will be open during the majority of the event). Guests will walk to the ceremony on a gravel road and will need to step on grass briefly to take their seats.
We are happy to answer your questions! Email us at td.stehr@gmail.com with anything further regarding our wedding.
There are three hotels in the area that we can recommend within a 10 minute drive from the wedding location.

Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Chilliwack

This newest hotel has extra amenities: outdoor pool, lounges and hot tub, outdoor bbq/grill area, outdoor fire table and seating. Rooms contain double queen beds or a king with a pullout sofa. Hot breakfast is included with a 24 hour coffee station, large common/breakfast area. This hotel is 10 minutes from the venue and right next to the highway. The rooms are quiet (this has been personally checked), but the outdoor areas do have highway noise. This is the most expensive option, but lovely if you are looking for time at the hotel with extra amenities and a larger communal area to gather.

Vedder River Inn

This well-recommended local Inn has many room options that can accommodate different party sizes and privacy within one room, while some rooms offer a kitchenette. Included take-and-go breakfast of yogurt, fruit, muffin, juice and coffee is available each morning. There is no pool or communal gathering areas, but this is a more value-priced accommodation that is clean and well kept with a good reputation. Located in a community, this quiet hotel has some local restaurants close by. This would be well-suited if you are planning on spending the majority of your time at the wedding!

Hampton Inn by Hilton Chilliwack

This hotel has a hot breakfast, 24 hour coffee station and an indoor pool and hot tub. There are several room options: (1) a handicapped-accessible two queen room that has enough room for a roll-away cot and can sleep 5 people, (2) a king with a pullout couch, (3) two queens, and (4) single king rooms. This hotel is quieter (further from the highway than the Fairfield), well-kept but older and has no outdoor communal areas. This hotel is priced in between Vedder River In and the Fairfield.

**Capernwray connections may desire to look into ‘Capernwray Couch Surfers’ for accommodation.
While we have not visited these places personally, here are two camping options in the area:

Vedder River Campground

Located 15 minutes from the wedding venue, tenting and RV camping cost $37-90 CAD depending on hook-up options (non-serviced to full hook-up plus additional costs).

Camperland RV Resort & Cabins

Located 20 minutes from the wedding venue close to Bridal Falls, this establishment offers cabins, furnished RV's to rent, 8 motel rooms and 280 RV sites (~$78-109 CAD/night for partial or full hook up sites—available to reserve after Jan 1st). 2 pools, 2 playgrounds and a restaurant are located on-site.

To find the right Airbnb, go to www.airbnb.com, enter “Abbotsford”* or “Chilliwack” in the search bar, and select the number of guests and the dates you would like to stay.

*Ensure that you have considered the distance between your Airbnb and the wedding venue before booking.
We will not be providing guest transportation throughout the wedding weekend. Our ceremony and reception will take place at the location listed, so we recommend booking a car rental or researching public transportation from your accommodation of choice.
Most international guests will need either a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada. The type required depends on your nationality. The government fee for an eTA is $7 CAD, and requires a short online application. You can apply directly through the official Canadian government portal: Apply for an eTA.

You can read more details on the official Government of Canada website.
Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) is the closest airport, although it may be less expensive to fly into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Depending on what day you are traveling to Canada, you may want to fly to and from Vancouver International Airport if you are planning to see other sights in the metropolitan area. Much of the Vancouver area is accessible by public transit, but for outlying areas like the wedding venue or Whistler, you may want to consider renting a car. If you would like help or advice for vacation planning, our travel agent, Theresa Falk, is an excellent resource.
There is so much to do in the Vancouver area, but here are a few of our favorites:

Visit downtown Vancouver: Great food and shopping.
Stanley Park: We love to walk the seawall (or bike; rollerblade!). We allow 2.5 hours to do the entire loop with a stop at Second Beach to use the swings with a great ocean view!
Granville Island: Shops, food, specialty souvenirs, and a family favorite: Lee's Donuts! You can walk around the False Creek Inlet or take the water taxis over to downtown Vancouver.
Steveston Village, Richmond: This smaller fishing village has neat shops and fish & chips, Timothy's Frozen Yogurt, and a park with a dyke along the water to walk.
Capilano Suspension Bridge: A lovely rain forest park with a suspension bridge, this is often a visitor highlight (paid admission).
Lynn Valley Canyon: An incredible rain forest/mountain visit with trails of various lengths and difficulty—hiking, rivers and beautiful scenery (free).
Whistler: A top destination for international and local travelers, this mountain resort is a 2-3 hour drive from Vancouver and could be a destination for a few nights for those who are interested.
Squamish (on the way to Whistler): White water rafting, trails, camping and adventure! We had lots of fun with this all-day ride!
White Rock: Close to Danae's parents is White Rock Beach and Crescent Beach, the Semiahmoo walking trail and parks. This is a lovely place to visit with restaurants and walks along the water.
